Frontier Africa TV

Frontier Africa TV

Africa - its people, places, and most pressing issues are our beat.

While working in hostile environments and covering the continent's most dangerous and inaccessible stories is our speciality, we also recognise that for too long Africa has simply been the bad news continent depicted as little more than a giant cauldron of corruption, dictatorship, famine and disease.

In response, Frontier Africa TV is keen to engage in stories that celebrate contemporary life and the cultural richness of the continent from Algeria to South Africa, Sierra Leone to Somalia.

The Team

Our team has years of journalistic experience working for the world's leading broadcasting networks and news agencies including Reuters, the BBC and Getty Images. Frontier Africa TV reporters have made films for BBC's Newsnight and Panorama on the war in Angola, and the controversy surrounding Winnie Madikizela-Mandela.

They have written acclaimed books on Africa and covered the continent's affairs for some of the world's leading newspapers. Some of their most recent film projects include a documentary on the life of bush pilots flying in the dangerous interior regions of the Democratic Republic of Congo, and the grand tradition of Kenyan distance running.
